About MGA

MGA Recycling & Upcycling Hub is a Ghanaian initiative dedicated to building a practical circular economy. We focus on plastics first, with a phased integration of textiles and other recyclables. Our ambition is to develop a network of hubs starting along the Accra–Cape Coast corridor and expanding nationwide.

What We Do

Plastic Collection & Sorting

Community-Based Collection

We set up collection points in neighbourhoods, schools and markets, and work with existing waste pickers and tricycle operators to gather plastic waste.

Recycling

Washing & Shredding

Collected plastics are washed, dried and shredded into clean flakes, which are sold as raw material to manufacturers or used in our own upcycling processes.

Upcycling

Eco Products

A portion of plastics is transformed into paving blocks, tiles, bins, furniture and décor, creating durable, affordable products for local markets.

How It Works

  1. Set up collection and awareness campaigns with communities and partners.
  2. Receive, sort and wash the plastics at the hub site.
  3. Shred into flakes for sale or use in molded products.
  4. Create upcycled products and distribute through local retailers and projects.
